Tips for Traveling Abroad
Withdrawing cash at ATMs while traveling abroad is a safe way to
avoid carrying large sums of money and it will help you take advantage
of the favorable exchange rates offered by foreign ATMs. You'll
find that most cities across the world have ATMs, even in the most
remote places. Cash withdrawals are dispensed in local currency,
and are debited from your account in your own currency - this eliminates
additional currency conversion fees and commissions often assessed
by traditional currency exchange bureaus.
Accessing Your Accounts in Other Countries
You'll find that once you make a transaction on an ATM, it will
be reflected almost immediately on your account. If use Online
Banking while you are away, you'll be able to manage your
account with great convenience. You'll find that in just about every
city you travel there will be an Internet cafe where you can quickly
gain access to your account online and make any adjustments or transfers
on the fly! You can also use SELCO's website to apply for emergency
funds or for helpful consumer information while on your trip.
