No more standing in lines. No more rushing to the credit union on a Friday
afternoon to deposit your check. Worry about one less thing, try direct deposit.
Take the worry out of:
- Stolen or misplaced checks (avoid mail delays)
- Delayed deposits, get paid even if you're not at work on payday (vacation,
traveling, or ill) or can't make it to SELCO during business hours.
- Forfeiting lunch hours
- Lost time
With Direct Deposit, your salary (paycheck) or payment (social security, pension, etc.) will deposit directly into your account and be available to you when your credit union opens for business on the payment date.
With direct deposit, you authorize your employer or federal agency, like the Social Security Administration, to deposit your check directly into your SELCO checking or savings account so you can count on access to funds without visiting the credit union. In fact, everyone receiving a
federal benefit must use direct deposit. If you're still receiving Social Security
checks, SELCO or a local or regional Social Security office
easily can switch you to direct deposit.

| Enroll for Direct Deposit for Other Payments |
Direct deposit isn't just for government payments.
You may authorize your employer to send your entire paycheck directly to the credit union for deposit to your account. From your deposit, you may also authorize through payroll deduction, the transfer of payments on any of your credit union loans, or you may authorize from your check any amount to be transferred into any account you choose. For example, transfer money into an account for a child. You may also set up pre-authorized drafts from your checking account for recurring insurance or mortgage payments.
please visit any branch or call SELCO at 686-8000 or toll-free

Direct Deposit
is safe and confidential |
Payments made by Direct
Deposit have never been lost. In fact, you are much more likely to have a problem
with a check.
Direct Deposit is more confidential. A check passes through many more hands than
an electronic transfer.
Problems with Direct Deposit, which are rare, are quickly resolved. By contrast,
problems with checks may take much longer to correct, sometimes up to three weeks.

| Direct
Deposit is convenient and saves you time |
By using
Direct Deposit, you may save the equivalent of three workdays each year by not
having to go to the bank to deposit checks.
You don't have to be in town for your money to be securely deposited into your
account. No more extra trips to the office to pick up paychecks.
|
| Direct
Deposit is fast |
Direct Deposit
gives many people access to their payments earlier than a check. There is no
waiting for a check to clear.
Income tax refunds can be delivered to taxpayers within days rather than months
if the state uses electronic filing and Direct Deposit. (Associated Press, 10/27/00)
