Netscape Navigator/Communicator 4.x Settings Tutorial

In the toolbar menu select the "Edit" option, from the drop down menu select "Preferences"

Select "Edit" and the "Preferences"

In the "Preferences" Menu highlight the "Advanced" option in the Category list:
From the right hand side preferences options be sure the following are selected:
- Enable Java
- Enable JavaScript
- Accept all cookies
Click "OK"

Enable "Java" and "JavaScript" from the "Advanced Category - "Accept all cookies" from the Cookies Option

In the Toolbar Menu select the "Communicator" option.
From the dropdown list select the "Tools" Menu.
From the option list select "Security Info"

Select "Communicator" --> "Tools" --> "Security Info"

In the "Security Info" window, 
Highlight the Navigator Option in the Left menu list,
Under the listing of "Advanced Security (SSL) Configuration" option,
Check the following:
- Enable SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) v2
- Enable SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) v3

Highlight "Navigator" from the Menu, Enable both SSL v2 and SSL v3

 

Click the "Configure SSL v2" Button
Be sure the following items have been checked:
- RC4 encryption with a 128-bit key
- RC2 encryption with a 128-bit key
- Triple DES encryption with a 168-key
- DES encryption with a 56-bit key
-RC4 encryption with a 40-bit key
- RC2 encryption with a 40-bit key

Click the "OK" button

Confirm SSL v2 Cipher settings from the list

 

Now Click the button marked:
"Configure SSL v3"
Be sure the following items have been selected:
- RC4 encryption with a 128-bit key and an MD5 MAC
- FIPS 140-1 compliant triple DES encryption and SHA-1 MAC
- Triple DES encryption with a 168-bit key and a SHQ-1 MAC
- FIPS 140-1 compliant DES encryption and SHA-1 MAC
- DES encryption with a 56-bit key and a SHA-1 MAC
- RC4 encryption with a 56-bit key and a SHA-1 MAC
- DES encryption in CBC mode with a 56-bit key and a SHA-1 MAC
- RC4 encryption with a 40-bit key and an MD5 MAC
- RC2 encryption with a 40-bit key and an MD5 MAC
*****DO NOT SELECT THE FOLLOWING*****
- No encryption with an MDS MAC
This setting will disable your ability to access your SELCO member account


Confirm SSL v3 Cipher Settings from the list

Click "OK" until you are back to your browser window.
You should now be able to access your online banking.  To be sure, please return to the main window and
copy and paste the following into your Netscape Location window:
"http://selco.org/onlinebanking/detect.asp" (without the quotes).
