Apr 5, 2017—SELCO Community Credit Union Welcomes New Portland-Area Mortgage Loan Officer Jay Bennett

Bennett brings nearly 20 years of mortgage experience to SELCO Mortgage

(PORTLAND, Ore.) — SELCO Community Credit Union has recently hired Jay Bennett to be its Portland-area Mortgage Loan Officer. In this role, Bennett will oversee mortgage loans in the Portland area, and work directly with SELCO members to counsel them through the mortgage process.

Bennett’s mortgage career began nearly 20 years ago, and it has led him to opportunities in Utah, Colorado, Northern California, and his native Oregon. Most recently, Bennett worked as Branch Manager for Polygon Mortgage, where he led a team of loan officers in support of the business and its buyers.

“With nearly two decades of experience and a passion for helping people, Jay is a perfect fit with SELCO’s core values and strong member focus,” said Mike Lavender, mortgage manager for SELCO Community Credit Union. “We are pleased to welcome Jay onto the SELCO Mortgage team, and we are excited to share his expertise with our staff and members.”

Bennett graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature. Bennett lives in Tualatin with his three teenage daughters. He also volunteers as a girls’ competitive soccer coach with the Westside Soccer Club.
