SELCO Scholarships

SELCO started its scholarship program in 1991 as an important component of our mission to help members reach their financial and educational goals. Starting with the 2024 application period (February 1–March 31) we've increased all scholarship amounts and expanding eligibility to vocational, continuing, and nontraditional students.

  • 20 scholarships of $3,500 for eligible students pursuing their educational goals.
  • $7,500 scholarship in honor of longtime educator/SELCO board member Richard Metzler.

Classroom Makeovers

We want to help educators inspire the love of learning—and that begins with the classroom space. Starting this year, we’re awarding up to $45,000 annually to revamp classrooms across the state. What do we mean by “classroom”? Anywhere where learning takes place, whether in a traditional classroom, library, or gymnasium, or outdoor space.

  • Funding 3 projects, up to $15,000 each.
  • Eligible to all K-12 educators across the 27 Oregon counties SELCO serves.
  • 2024 application period is now closed.

Creative Educator Grants

Designed to fund creative classroom ideas that don’t have the funds to get off the ground, our Creative Educator Grants have brought hundreds of classroom projects to life. If you’re an educator with an idea for a classroom project, we can’t wait to hear about it.

  • Grants up to $2,500.
  • Eligible to all K-12 educators across the 27 Oregon counties SELCO serves.
  • 2025 application period is open August 15-September 30, 2025.
